RAINBOW ROMBIX®

This is the 24-sided embodiment of the Rombix concept discovered and developed by Alan Schoen. It contains six different rhomb sizes. When paired in every possible concave combination, they yield 30 "twin" tiles. Including the 6 unit rhombs, the 36 pieces can tile the circle in thousands of ways and let the puzzler explore the deeper mathematical properties of the Rombix phenomenon. We recommend this set for advanced puzzlers only, or for those with a mathematical background. Keep out of reach of small children, as the more slender rhombs are pointy. All-acrylic construction has transparent rainbow-tinted tiles in a 15" square black tray. When not being played with, Rainbow Rombix can be displayed on its easel as a striking visual art object. $125

GRAND ROUNDOMINOES®
...by Kate Jones

This one's the granddaddy of the Roundominoes series. Its 83 pieces include 1 through 5 rounds, 1 through 4 bridges, and 8 new shapes called doopers. Those are double rounds with extra bridges. The doopers look like funny little cartoon figures and have droll names.] Even we don't know how many different ways the set can fit. The 16" tray, black or white, comes with reversible black/white fitted lid and easel. The pieces are made of 6 luminous transparent colors, plus black and white accents. Recommended for teen and adult puzzle lovers. $225

CHOOCHOOLOOPSTM   by Kate Jones

The 12 distinct shapes are a unique new concept:  polybends formed of combinations of quarter arcs of lengths 1, 2, 3 and 4, color-coded for size in 4 luminous transparent acrylic colors. The 26 pieces include mirror images of non-symmetric shapes and multiples of the smaller pieces to fill the 6x6 grid. There are thousands of beautiful ways to form closed loops and open paths of various lengths and shapes that wind their way around the 36 built-in islands. It's very tricky to get all the pieces to fit! The set was inspired by a request from the mom of our youngest fan who likes trains, and for whom we made a colorful jumbo set for "beta-testing". For 1 or 2 players, ages 8 to adult. $65
